Monday, January 12, 2009
-
At 12:11 hours today the Baldwinsville Fire Department was dispatched as the R.I.T to the Liverpool Fire District on a reported structure fire.  Shortly after the dispatch, the units responding were advised that the caller reports "the fire is through the roof". Liverpool Car 3 arrived and found a split level home with heavy fire in the attached garage with extentsion to the residence and signaled the fire a 99. Baldwinsville Rescue 6 responded and set up on side A of the structure. There was already partial roof collapse and suppression activities were limited to one exterior line and one interior line stretched to just inside the front door. A walk around was performed by the crew of Rescue 6 and ladders were thrown. The fire was knocked down in approximatly 20 minutes and overhaul began. The crew of Rescue 6 stood by ready to respond if the need arose and thankfully it did not! The crew of Rescue 6 then assisted the Fire Investigators with clearing debris in an attempt to determine a cause and returned to service shortly there after.
