At 2:17AM Thanksgiving morning Baldwinsville was dispatched to a vehicle into a tree. Baldwinsville Chief Cerio arrived and found a Ford F250 into a tree with the driver still in the vehicle requiring heavy extrication. Engine 5 (Capt. Rockdashil) arrived first and pulled a hand line. Rescue 6 (Lt. O'Kelly) arrived second and was sent to the drivers side to start extra cation. Engine 4 (Firefighter Roser) arrived third and was sent to the passenger side to start extrication. After the roof was removed crews worked on removing the doors on both sides of the vehicle. The driver was pinned in the rear part of the cab with the steering wheel into his pelvic region. Baldwinsville squad 3 arrived (Lt. DiGregorio) and had the winch on it put to use with stabalizing the vehicle. After an extensive amount of time crews removed the driver and he was transported by Mercy flight to the hospital. Thank you to all of the resources on scene Phoenix fire department, Mercy flight, Big Red towing, Baldwinsville Police, Onondaga County Sheriffs and surgeons from University Hospital.
