Lakeside Fire District was dispatched to the area of Van Ness Rd South near the Seneca Golf Course for a large container leaking an unknown liquid. Lakeside units arrived and discovered several 55 gallon barrels leaking an unknown substance and immediately requested a response from the Onondaga County Special Operations Team. Baldwinsville units responded with the hazardous materials trailers and set up tools for substance identification and spill containment. Lakeside and Baldwinsville units were able to control the leaking barrels and mitigate the hazard with the assistance of the Special Operations coordinators. Units were decontaminated and able to secure a short time later with the scene being handled by Lakeside Fire and DEC officials.
