Baldwinsville units were dispatched to the Mercer Park area of the Seneca River for a MVA/ vehicle in the water after a police pursuit early Monday morning. Car 2 (Deputy Chief Pickard) arrived and requested Dive teams as it was unknown whether or not the vehicle was still occupied in the water. Deputy Chief Picakrd took command and Car 3 (Assistant chief McIntyre) took Operations. Due to the strong current of the river the 4x4 truck floated East down the river and was caught by a river barrier line 50 feet before the dam. Baldwinsville Water Rescue 1 was able to get out to the submerged truck and connect it to a tow hook from Big Red Towing and pull the vehicle out of the water. It was discovered that there were no trapped occupants in the vehicle and is still unknown of the location of the driver. Baldwinsville would like to thank all mutaul Aid companies for their quick response and assistance at the scene.
